A veteran Muscovite who defiled a photo was asked for 5 years in prison – RBK

The prosecutor’s office asked to sentence Matvey Yuferov, accused in the case of desecrating a stand with a photograph of a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, for five years. It is reported by TASS with reference to the metropolitan department.

In addition to serving his sentence in a general regime correctional colony, the prosecutor’s office also asked to deprive the accused for five years of activities related to the administration of websites.

The incident took place on November 25th. According to the prosecutor’s office, Yuferov urinated on a portrait of veteran Anatoly Frolov, which is located in a park in the Izmailovo district in eastern Moscow, after which he posted a video of the incident on the Internet.

The young man is accused under the article on desecrating the symbols of Russia’s military glory, insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland, committed in public (part 4 of article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). As a maximum punishment, the article faces up to five years in prison.
