A commemoration ceremony was held for Özkan Sümer, one of the former presidents of Trabzonspor Club, who also had a background as a coach and football player in the club, at his grave in Maçka District on the 3rd anniversary of his death. To the ceremony; Members of the board of directors of the claret-blue club, presidents and representatives of the boards, former managers, former football players and Sümer’s family and loved ones attended.
Speaking at the commemoration ceremony, Trabzonspor General Secretary Kemal Ertürk stated that Özkan Sümer had no other example in world history and said, “Our teacher Özkan is one of the rare people in the history of world sports who was both a football player, a coach and president of the club he played for. This pride is the pride of our teacher Özkan. “We always call him our teacher. In fact, he was also the president of Trabzonspor, but we always call him our teacher because our teacher Özkan guided us and guided us. He was our teacher.”
