★★★★ For all those who did not have the joy of seeing him on stage, let us remember that Ernesto Bianco (Oscar Ernesto Pelicori / 19221977), was one of the most versatile Argentine actors of his generation. He is capable of transforming the subtle art of acting into poetry, as he demonstrated in countless works in theater, film and TV. His last stage appearance, in “Cyrano de Bergerac”, by Edmond Rostand, performed at the San Martín theater, was tremendous. The same workers of the room, still remember the times that the curtain had to be raised before the endless applause of the public.
His wife was the actress Iris Alonso, a prominent member of a clan of emblematic figures from the golden age of national cinema, along with her brothers Tito and Pola; a real star on the screen. When her mother died, the couple’s daughters, Ingrid Pelicori and Irina Alonso, found an invaluable treasure: folders with notes, photos and interviews that followed the path of her father. A sum of memories whose custody had been initiated by his grandmother and which were destined to come to light in this tribute.
In a country where, for a number of reasons, there is practically no audiovisual memory, a year-long investigation began to collect testimonies and find audios that were believed to be impossible to find, such as the final song of “El hombre de la Mancha” (1968) or videos such as “El Inglés de los güesos” (1975), the first miniseries made in the country.
Interviews were also conducted with those who worked or knew the actor. Thus, the voices of Ana María Picchio, Pepe Soriano, Claudia Lapacó, Luis Brandoni, María Rosa Fugazot and other essential references of the show, put together an affectionate and cordial puzzle, not without humor, that provides a complete image of the artist and the personality of him.
The proposal includes narrations by the talented Ingrid and Irina, songs and also the recreation of situations in which their cousins, the actors Claudio Da Passano and Ángeles Alonso, join in, giving voice to Bianco and Iris, respectively.
The result conveys a deep human warmth, allows us to go back to a time that will not return and share part of the love of these sisters towards their ancestors.
