A tent village has gone up in central London – Thousands are queuing to see the king

Central London has been overwhelmed by a strange sight as thousands of people have camped out on the city’s main street.

Saturday 6th May is a historic day when King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla will be crowned.

Thousands of people have secured prime spots to watch the coronation procession, which will make its way from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey on Saturday morning.

Most of the campers have pitched their tents on one of London’s main streets, The Mall.

A native of Texas, USA Denise has already camped with his two friends on the side of the street on Thursday.

The night had passed peacefully and Denise said that she slept soundly.

– It’s safe here when you hear the whisper of speakers and know that the area is guarded.
