Temperatures of no less than 44 or 45 degrees. According to some weather models, it will be extremely hot in Brabant in the coming period. Diana Woei of Weerplaza was asked how realistic this is.
The extreme temperatures, which were shown on weather model MetDesk, were tweeted on Saturday evening by weatherman Reinier van den Berg. With the addition that this is a long-term forecast and that it is therefore still extremely uncertain. “But the fact that an in itself good weather model calculates this … Until 2019 you never saw people in their forties in calculations for our country,” the weatherman writes on Twitter.
Brushed out of the weather map
Diana Woei of Weerplaza announced on Sunday morning that these extremes ‘have already been brushed off the weather map’. Although, according to her, there are still calculations that indicate temperatures above 40 degrees for July 18.
But this is about the upper limit on the weather maps, Diana emphasizes. “Because the lower limit is then 22 degrees. But most models indicate that there is a thirty percent chance of temperatures of 35 to 40 degrees. And for Sunday 17 July, that chance is even greater. There are only a few models that have 43 degrees, but it does get seriously hot, especially in the Eindhoven and Den Bosch region.”
Heat wave
It will also be warm in the province next week. Diana expects a heat wave. “On Monday we will start with cloud fields, but later in the day there is more and more room for the sun. In the afternoon it will be 25 or 26 degrees with little wind.”
A heat wave requires five summer days of at least 25 degrees, three of which are tropical with temperatures of 30 degrees or more.
Even warmer days
“We may already have the first tropical day on Tuesday,” says Diana. “With 31 degrees in the east of Brabant. Whether it will also be tropically warm on Wednesday is still the question. But we will certainly achieve summer values with 27 or 28 degrees. It will be a little less warm on Thursday. “But the weather model is late. We see that we also achieve summer values in the province.”
It will be quite warm on Friday and into the weekend. “We will reach 30 degrees or more on Saturday and Sunday.”
Diana expects the heat to last until Saturday 23 July.
