A table, a book

The Ginza neighborhood in Tokyo is one of the best known and most visited from the city. There are department stores and fashion stores and also the famous tsukiji fish market and the Kabuli-za theater. Also there is a restaurant and a bookstore. There is more, yes, but these two establishments are peculiar. The restaurant is called Mibu and only has one table. There are several members who pay an annual fee to be able to go once a month and (almost) stop counting. The rest, the privileged few who have tasted the cooking of Hiroyoshi and Tomiko Ishida, speak of it with astonishment and respect. Ferran Adrià has said that the Mibu cannot be explained and Andoni Aduritz affirms that “it is beauty for beauty’s sake”. That is to say, No need to add more. There are other restaurants (or non-restaurants, as some claim) are similar, I mean with only one table, but this is the one with the most renown. Among other Buddhist root details, every day they empty the fridge because the next day they don’t want anything that comes from the day before.
