A student from Sabadell and a student from Sant Vicenç dels Horts get a 10 in selectivity

  • The boy has completed high school at the Escola Pia and the girl, at the Salesianos

  • 97% of the young people have passed the exams and the average mark has been 6.85

The highest rating: a 10. This is the best note of selectivity 2022 in Catalonia. And two students have obtained it; a young man from Escola Pia de Sabadell and one student of the Salesians of Sant Vicenç dels Horts, both in the province of Barcelona. The first and last time that a Catalan student obtained a 10 in the PAU was in 2014. On that historic occasion, it was a student from the Escola Pia de Vilanova i la Geltrú, Carles Domingo, who achieved 10.

In the province of Lleida the best grade was 9.90 and it was achieved by a student from the Les Heures school. In Girona, the highest grade, also 9.90, is for a student from the Tossa de Mar Institute. And in Tarragona, the best grade, 9.70, was achieved by a student from the Andreu Nin Institute and six boys from Tarragona Hall and of the Cambrils, Gabriel Ferrater i Soler, Fontanelles, La Talaia and Antoni Martí i Franquès institutes.

96.91% of Catalans who took the university entrance exams have passed the tests, a slightly higher percentage than in the 2021 PAU edition, when it was 96.77%. The 31,987 lucky ones have obtained an average score of 6,855 (in 2021 it was 6,848). The average grade for admission to university –which is calculated based on the grade for the general phase of the PAU (40%) and the grade for the baccalaureate (60%)– was 7,293.

Likewise, 1,409 students (853 girls and 556 boys) will receive the PAU distinctions for having obtained a grade equal to or greater than 9. The figure improves on that reached last year, when the number of excellent students was 1,242.

Among the common subjects, the highest average grade was for the German subject, with 8.49. It is followed by English and French, both subjects with an average grade of 7.49. In Catalan Language and Literature, the average grade was 7.08, while in Spanish Language and Literature, the average grade was 6.54. In History, the average grade was 6.82.

The students can check the results of the exams in this link. When they do, they will be able to download the personal document accrediting the qualifications of the PAU 2022, which is equipped with a secure verification code. This document is necessary to be able to formalize university enrollment once the process for assigning places has been completed. The university pre-registration can be formalized until July 1 in the Access Portal to the University. The Department of Research and Universities will make public the Cutting notes around July 14.
