A new era is beginning for textile workers in Reutlingen. The former Faculty of Textile & Design at Reutlingen University is doing justice to the strong development and will be renamed TEXOVERSUM Faculty of Textiles for the coming semester in October of this year.
The renaming is also the start of something big. Under the visionary umbrella brand TEXOVERSUM, the newly founded joint venture TEXOVERSUM LDT Nagold will operate alongside the Faculty of Textiles. Further sub-brands are planned.
“We are very pleased and proud to be bundling all of our activities under the TEXOVERSUM brand in the future. In this way, before the opening of the TEXOVERSUM building, which was donated by Südwesttextil, the business and employers’ association of the Baden-Württemberg textile and clothing industry, in the coming year, we are bringing to life an internationally uniquely strong ecosystem,” says Dean Prof. Dr. Jochen Straehle from the TEXOVERSUM Textile Faculty.
The new logo was developed in cooperation with the Karlsruhe advertising agency Bunte büffel GmbH. A multi-layered “X” from the word TEXOVERSUM is distinctive and formative as a figurative mark. It translates the interwoven and networked nature of textile technology into the visual and at the same time is symbolic of the meeting of different disciplines and areas such as science and industry.
For more than 165 years, Reutlingen has stood for textile training at a unique level. Demands on quality and innovative strength are drivers for excellence in textile training and one of the reasons why Reutlingen has been considered a beacon of the industry not only since the TEXOVERSUM was created. Prospective students can choose from a total of seven strong courses in design, technology and fashion management, which were also realigned for the winter semester. The faculty offers a holistic thinking, learning and research environment, which focuses on the credo “We shape the world of tomorrow through textiles”.
