The fault that got through quality assurance was a translation error by the device manufacturer. DNA publishes an update package in which the error has been corrected.

The provider of operator services DNA sells network devices where the network status is claimed to be “disabled”. This occurs when configuring the device’s network settings. A reader of Iltalehti told about it Jari Koski.
Koski has worked with information technology and noticed this while installing the device. According to him, the issue has manifested itself in all of DNA’s network devices.

– DNA sells devices like this and this is presumably some kind of bad joke, Koski says.
Koski says that such mishaps should not happen that offend others. Actually, the device should indicate that the network status is off.
There is a problem with quality assurance
DNA’s service development director Ville Partanen regrets the situation and states that such things should not happen under any circumstances.
– We are very sorry for such an incident. Under no circumstances should such things get through quality assurance, says Partanen.
DNA located the fault and concluded that the fault was in the devices, of which a few thousand have been sold. A corrective update has been made and will be available as part of the next update package.
– The purpose is to update all customers’ devices within the next month.
Partanen says that it is a translation error by the French device manufacturer Sagemcom. Sagemcom has presumably used Google’s translation service or similar machine translation instead of the translation agency required for quality assurance.
The case has appeared when configuring the devices in the guest network settings. The translation error is due to the double meaning of the word.
