The Winnipeg Jets took a 3-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild early Wednesday morning Finnish time.
It was already known that the season of the Nashville Predators will end with the regular season. Thus, Leijon has interesting players available.
Juuse Saros, the Perdators’ number one goalkeeper, belongs to the NHL’s star category due to his level, and Kevin Lankinen has saved quite well in the Leijonat jersey before.
Saros has previously played in three World Cup matches in his career and saved Finland’s victory in each of them.
Lankinen, on the other hand, served as the Lions’ number one goalkeeper in the spring of 2019, when Finland marched to the World Cup gold. At that time, Lankinen saved in eight matches with a save percentage of 94.2.
Predators Juuso Pärssinen has suffered from ailments recently, but recovered to playing condition for the last games of the regular season. Pärssinen has played in 43 regular season matches this season with an output of 5+18.
The Buffalo Sabres’ season also ends with the regular season and the team’s defender Henri Jokiharju and the goalkeeper Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen are thus freed up for use by the Lions.
Jokiharju has played on the back lines of the Sabers in 58 regular season games with 2+10 power points. Luukkonen, on the other hand, has made saves in 33 regular season matches this season with a save percentage of 89.2.
On the other hand, the Lions won’t get the help of the Florida Panthers’ Finnish players, at least at the beginning of the games. The Panthers secured their playoff spot and thus continue their season in the playoffs.
Florida, starred by Aleksander Barkov, Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostarinen, advanced to the playoffs for the fourth time in a row.
