A downright wild picture of King Kaarle Kustaa, 76, has started to spread on social media from years ago.
The photo was taken in 1968 at the Easter carnival in Storlien, Sweden. In the picture, Kaarle Kustaa is only wearing a long, gray jacket in ski equipment. On his head, Kaarle Kustaa has a blond, long-haired wig. He is not wearing overpants in the picture.
The king was still a prince at that time and only received the king’s crown five years later. Kaarle Kustaa lived a relatively private life when he was a prince. The person who made the original post on Twitter probably took the photo from a book or magazine.
– Is this the mountain goblin himself? Kaarle Kusta is usually seen more or less wild at the Easter festival in Storlien, the caption says in free Finnish.
The picture is very extraordinary. Twitter intervened a few days after publication, defining the image as sensitive content and even censoring it. Censorship can be bypassed by agreeing to display the image separately.
– The only girl I will ever love is a king in drag, the tweet says.

The king and the royal family used to visit Storlien on vacation in the ski resort. Storlien is located on the Swedish side, only two kilometers from the border between Sweden and Norway.
