The season of the Den Helder Suns basketball players is coming to an end. The basketball players play in the so-called BNXT League; a competition of Dutch and Belgian teams. “The financial differences in particular are large,” says Den Helder coach Peter van Noord.
“We belong to the Dutch tail teams and we have to fight to get more budget. Then we can join in”, continues Van Noord.
Bumpy path
Den Helder has a season with ups and downs. For example, it was recently announced that Kevin Bleeker will stop playing basketball due to persistent injuries. Jitze ter Haar also hardly played this season due to a hernia. The American Darius Banks had also quickly left Den Helder.
“It could have been more. It was a bumpy road with sometimes a few pitfalls,” Van Noord is clear.
On Sunday, the North Hollanders played against the Belgian Brussels. A great opportunity for NH Sport to take stock.
