A REM evening with Birgit Fuss and Tom Liwa

ROLLING STONE once called REM the best band in the world – and there are two people who still agree. They perform together in a colorful evening that combines text and music.

ROLLING STONE editor Birgit Fuss reads from her new book “REM: Life And How To Live It – The Story of a Rock Band That (Almost) Made No Mistakes” (Verlag Andreas Reiffer). In it, she not only recounts REM’s unprecedented career, but also analyzes its principles and decisions, the dramatic turning points and Michael Stipe’s fascinating poetry.

But it shouldn’t just be a reading, these wonderful songs have to be heard! And this is where Tom Liwa comes in with his guitar. Birgit Fuss and Tom Liwa have spent a lot of time nerding about REM in recent years, he has already translated “Losing My Religion” into German with the Flowerpornoes and is more than familiar with the work of Berry/Buck/Mills/Stipe.
