Agents of the National Police have arrested a priest in the Malaga town of Vélez-Málaga who, allegedly, sexually assaulted several women whom he sedated and recorded. So far five women have been identified, but investigators do not rule out the appearance of new victims.
The women, belonging to their circle of friends, were attacked in different years and locations and were not aware of having suffered any sexual crime, the provincial police station reported. The detainee, who has been imprisoned, is accused of four sexual assaults and five crimes against privacy.
The investigation began last August. A woman reported to the Family and Care Unit for Women (UFAM) in Melilla that she had located in her home that she shared with her romantic partner a hard drive that contained photographs and videos where several women appeared semi-naked, asleep or under the effects of some sedative and to whom a man performed all types of sexual practices.
Given the possibility that such sexual acts were not consensual, the complainant made a copy of the disk and went to the police station to inform the agents, the National Police indicated in a statement. From here, an investigation began in collaboration with researchers from the central UFAM.
After exhaustive analysis of the graphic material, the researchers observed that in some of the videos the detainee appeared performing sexual practices on different women in a state of unconsciousness, practices that he also recorded. The agents managed to identify five victims who stated that they were unaware of the existence of the recordings and that they were not aware of having been victims of any crime of a sexual nature.
The agents found out that the sexual assaults had been carried out continuously in different years and locations, on the occasion of trips by groups of friends, among whom was the arrested person. This would have supplied the victims some type of substance that annulled his state of consciousness in order to carry out the sexual assaults.
