Pigs that are being fattened for slaughter are more comfortable listening to music in the barn. That says pig farmer Piet Paesmans from Nieuwerkerken near Sint-Truiden. He has put together a whole playlist to play music for his pigs throughout the day. “That goes from classical music to occasionally rock music, the latter not too much because they don’t like that very much,” says Piet. The Flemish government is now setting aside money to see whether its gut feeling is correct.
