Florida Panthers’ Finnish star Alexander Barkov has been a shadow in the NHL playoffs compared to his regular season.
Now we have received more information about Barkov’s condition. Panthers head coach by Paul Maurice according to the captain has suffered from health problems.
– He was so sick before the first game of the series. He has improved match by match during his recovery, Maurice said on the NHL website.
– I believe that the two intervening days (between the fourth and fifth games) were critical.
Maurice did not specify what kind of health problems Barkov is suffering from.
Barkov scored 23+55 in 68 regular season matches. After five playoff matches, the star’s balance is a modest 0+3.
Sportsnet’s NHL insider Elliotte Friedman praised Barkov’s performance in his 32 Thoughts podcast. Friedman analyzes that Barkov is not giving his team enough at his current level of performance.
– Several players who have watched these playoffs have said that he needs more swagger in his play. Matthew Tkachuk brought it, but they feel that Barkov should be able to do the same, Friedman reflected.
