A new international film by Taneli Mustonen, who directed Bodom

Director Taneli Mustonen, who visited the Half-Seven program, says that she is afraid of horror films, even though she directs them herself.

Ylen Half past seven Taneli Mustonen, who visited the program, directed her first horror film in 2016, when the film Bodom was released in cinemas. Now Mustonen’s second horror directing Twin – The Evil Twin, has been sold for cinema distribution in more than 30 countries.

The director visited the Half a Seven program, where he said that according to the statistics of the Finnish Film Foundation, the film is the third most feature-length Finnish full-length film.

– It feels crazy about itself, but that’s the way it is, Mustonen describes his feelings.

The film was shot in Finland and Estonia. Mustonen has scripted it together with the producer Aleksi Hyvärinen with. The main role is seen in an Australian actor Teresa Palmer.

Mustonen has also directed the films Classroom Meeting and It’s Insane.

Fear yourself

Mustonen says that he can’t stand horror movies himself. Admittedly, he believes it relates to those perceptions of how horror itself is perceived.

– For many, it’s just a scare, he thinks.

However, there are a huge cavalcade of movies on vacation that don’t directly make you scream, but go much deeper through psychological means.

– Horror is such a big umbrella, when everything is put in, there may be something I can’t handle the roof by any means.

He says he watches horror movies, but enjoys movie theaters. On the home couch, it is rarer.

– If I know I’m home alone, I’m excited.

He also reminds that if horror movies start to be thought of with reason, they will no longer scare so much.

– It’s like a fairy tale for adults. When you think through it you realize it’s not that serious.

He believes you can also train to watch horror movies.

– It’s worth starting early, in good company, with the lights on and the lights down, he sculpts.
