Residents on the eastern edge of the Groningen city district of Beijum look out over 38 hectares of land, a green grassy landscape. In the coming years, this will be transformed into a natural cemetery with 10,000 graves. That is, if the municipality of Het Hogeland, which includes the area, approves the plan.
