Claudia (Bevilacqua) wakes up from a coma after 17 years. Today he is 35 years old and, during his absence, the world has moved on. After an initial phase in which she feels lost, try to rebuild. And he does it starting from the life he left behind, that of a teenager.
For Claudia everything is as before, but not for the others. In particular, for his daughter Michela (Alice Maselli), now seventeen, who has to deal with the new everyday life and with some embarrassing attitudes of the mother. She’s a mature girl for her age, grew up with her grandfather Nino (Enzo De Caro) and with Claudia’s closest friends.
It’s in the front row Giuliano (Simone Corrente), a dreamy teacher, who has always felt more than just friendship. Now is about to marry Vittoria (Margareth Madè), but waking up could create quite a havoc. They are also part of the old party Stefano (Raniero Monaco di Lapio), now a professor of physical education, and Fiorenza (Elena Cucci).
Who is Michela’s father?
The team is enriched by Michela’s schoolmates, by other friends of Claudia, but above all by possible father of Michela, whose identity has never been revealed. In the hospital, Claudia met Doctor Benpieri (Dino Abbrescia), who followed it step by step. Apparently he is a meticulous doctor, but his goal is to take advantage of the woman’s unexpected awakening to obtain prestigious awards by the scientific community.
To do that, he gets help from his lover, Virginia (Crisula Safida), a ditzy nurse, hopeful that Benpieri will leave his wife Anna (Cecilia Dazzi). The latter is Claudia’s psychiatrist and, thanks to their talks, she could discover her husband’s unmentionable secrets.

The film sees the couple formed by Giulia Bevilacqua and Simone Correnti reform. The two they starred together in Police District in which they respectively played Anna Gori and Luca Benvenuto. A professional partnership that lasted from 2005 to 2009, when Bevilacqua left the scene, to return in 2011 as a guest star. At the time, they were also a steady couple in life.
Today, however, they are both married. She got married in 2017 with Nicola New Year, with whom she had two children: Vittoria, born in 2018, and Edoardo, in 2020. Simone Corrente has been married since 2018, lives in Indonesia and has one sonborn in 2021. In the cast of Suddenly a mother another face appears Police District.
