Emerging Saudi fashion talents showcase at WHITE Milano 2023

Designers from the Saudi 100 Brands program return to WHITE Milano, one of the most anticipated events of Milan Fashion Week, after making a splash at last year’s event. As exhibitors for the international market, the designers will be housed in one of five dedicated areas of the show from September 22nd to 25th.

WHITE Milano is the world’s most important fair for women’s fashion in the heart of Milan’s Tortona fashion district. Known as a launch platform for popular brands, the event brings together top international buyers, retailers and press with inspiring, up-and-coming designers.

The Saudi “special area” is planning a powerful exhibition with designers who will present their latest collections in women’s fashion, accessories and jewellery.

The Saudi 100 Brands program supports Saudi designers in developing their fashion, luxury and jewelery businesses and gives them the best tools to succeed in the local and international markets.

Through masterclasses, workshops, one-on-one mentoring sessions and professional development from industry leaders and experts, the initiative has already produced fashion designers who have found success on the international stage with events at New York, Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks.

The specialized mentoring program covers ten different categories: ready-to-wear, traditional, concept, premium, demi-couture, bridal, handbags, jewelery and, as of this year, perfume and shoes. The designers are a diverse group – aged between 20 and 70 and 85% female; some of them have trained at top international design schools, others are self-taught.

Commenting on the value of the WHITE Milano Show, Burak Cakmak, CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission said: “I couldn’t be prouder of our designers who continue to wow audiences on the world stage with their original and imaginative designs. The Saudi fashion scene is like no other. She celebrates Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage – the history of talented artisans and sophisticated craftsmanship – along with a love of luxury, extravagant couture and contemporary fashion. It is important to support Saudi designers to reach international markets and get in front of influential buyers and decision makers to strengthen their international presence. We look forward to collaborating with new supporters from around the world at this year’s show.

Brenda Bellei, Chief Executive Officer of WHITE continued: “We look forward to welcoming talented Saudi designers to WHITE for the second consecutive year during Milan Fashion Week. The fashion world is fascinated by the mix of traditional elements and innovation in its collections and we are honored to offer designers a platform to connect with the press and buyers from some of the world’s most important boutiques and department stores. The Saudi Ministry of Culture and the Fashion Commission are supporting the designers of the Saudi 100 Brands program in reaching an international audience and Milan is the ideal international platform to present themselves.”

WHITE MILANO returns from September 22nd to 25th, 2023 with numerous initiatives taking place in the Italian fashion district of Tortona in many locations, including Padiglione Visconti (Via Tortona 58), Superstudio Più (Via Tortona 27), BASE Ex Ansaldo (Via Tortona 54 ) and Opificio (Via Tortona 31).

Established in 2002, WHITE Milano takes place four times a year during Milan Fashion Week and presents around 1,000 collections each year, to which over 20,000 visitors from all over the world are expected.
