You can soon read about the life and career of radio journalist Perttu Häkkinen in an illustrated memoir.
Journalist and writer who died five years ago Perttu Häkkinen has been immortalized in a soon-to-be-published extensive memoir. The work about the writer’s life bears the name Perttu Häkkinen – Standard bearer (Salakirjat), which will be published in autumn 2023.
One of the editors of the memoir Jussi K. Niemelä tells more about the publication of the book Instagramin his publication. He describes the illustrated work as, among other things, an overview of the psyche and life work of the late cultural figure.
– Häkkinen, who died accidentally five years ago in August, was one of the most significant figures of his generation. In his short but astonishingly productive career as a journalist, he combined a broad cultural education with an endless thirst for knowledge and traditional Finnish roots, Niemelä begins in his publication.

Häkkinen died at the age of 39 after falling off his bicycle in Helsinki’s Hakaniemi on August 12, 2018. He was returning from the continuation of the Flow festival in Merihaa. The reporter died of his injuries after falling to the ground at the scene of the accident.
Häkkinen worked as a radio journalist at, among others, Radio Helsinki, Basso Media and Yle’s YleX and Yle Puhe channels. In addition, the journalist has written, among other things, a documentary novel called Drowning and Vesa Iitin with Light Bearers: Glimpses of Finnish occult science.
