Poop Boys drummer Roope Nieminen publishes hilarious song videos at Tiktok, in which familiar songs are performed in a rather short format.

Drummer for Portion Boys Roope Nieminen goes wild with his song videos on social media.
Nieminen has uploaded videos to Tiktok that sing well-known Finnish songs, albeit in a rather short format. The idea is that the male and guitar duo performs the songs so that only the opening and ending sentences of the song are heard.
The videos have already garnered hundreds of thousands of likes and views in just a few weeks.
Nieminen released his first video in May 2022, in which he versions Mamba’s Saturday Night.
– To Saturday night’s restaurant, I was going to go to a party – and I continued walking home, he sings with a guitar.
After the release of the video, Nieminen has already made ten more videos at the request of his followers, in which Anssi Kela, Hector and Fröbel’s blocks are sung.

Gig bus humor
Nieminen tells Iltalehti that this is a joke that circled the tour bus and spread to Finland.
– I didn’t get to grind these with my bandmates on the tour bus for a long time, so maybe it’s something like that, Nieminen laughs.
He says that the Saturday night version of Mamba, for example, had been a joke with a bunch of friends for a long time. With that in mind, Nieminen lit a lamp on his head, and he decided to start processing it into a sommelier.
– Then we started to wonder if there were other songs that could be played that way.
Nieminen says that after the videos were released, they started living their own lives in Tiktok. Their rapid spread surprised him, though he didn’t take the pressure from the likes.
– However, I didn’t take the stress when there were impressions. I’ve put wooden wooden knives in there before, which now happens to be fun in my own mind. It’s fun that we liked these too!
The followers also present wish songs, which Nieminen implements to the best of his ability. However, not all songs bend naturally to this style of joke.
– Some of the songs will be pretty neutral with this template. Then they may not be so good in terms of so-called meme value. I like the line that I make ones that I think are fun.
He emphasizes that the idea of the whole project is that everything is done within the limits of good taste.
– With a good vibe and respect for the original songs and artists. It’s nice when you can find such versatile lyrics in Finnish music, which bends like that.
Portion Boys’ music in this form has not been heard so far, and Nieminen is not entirely sure whether it will be heard either.
– It was requested too! But so far I haven’t found a song in our catalog that would fit this, he laughs.
