“A mascara marathon”: Ex-HIM singer Ville Vallo announces solo album NEON NOIR

Do you still remember HIM? The Finnish goth rock band were a big hit in the late 90’s and early 00’s, most notably for their hit ‘Join Me (In Death)’ from their second album RAZORBLADE ROMANCE (2000) and the Chris Isaac cover ‘Wicked Game ‘ from her debut GREATEST LOVESONGS VOL. 666 (1997). They are considered one of the most commercially successful Finnish bands of all time. In 2017 HIM disbanded. Now, five years later, their singer Ville Vallo announces his solo debut.

NEON NOIR, as the album is titled, is scheduled for release on January 13, 2023 and will include the previously released songs “Loveletting” and “Echolate Your Love” as well as three tracks from Vallo’s 2020 EP “Gothica Fennica Vol. 1”. heard were: “Run Away From The Sun”, “Salute The Sanguine” and “Saturnine Saturnalia”.

The singer describes his solo debut as follows: “’Neon Noir’ is a sonic step-by-step guide on how to survive, and perhaps even enjoy, the realm of VV with its abundance of things that go bump in the night. It’s a teary mascara marathon between RobertSmith other ozzywith a dash of hope.”
