At the Green Party Congress, the CDU was insulted as “racist” – because of the desire for a first name query of those arrested at the New Year’s Eve riots. So they wanted to find out who might have Arabic roots.
An analysis by the Wahlen research group shows that a majority of Muslims in Berlin voted for the Christian Democrats: 27.7 percent voted for the CDU, 24.9 percent for the SPD, 15.2 percent for the Left and only 8.3 percent for the Greens.
► Catholics 37.9 percent voted for the CDU, 20.2 percent for the Greens (lead candidate Jarasch is a member of the Central Committee), and 15.9 percent for the SPD. Donut evangelical faith also primarily CDU (33.8), then SPD (21.6), Greens (19.7).
► In the occupational groups, the SPD was just ahead of workers and employees who at the same timeactive in unions are. Officials preferred the CDU (41 percent), then SPD (22.6 percent), Greens 15.2 percent)
►Pensioner: 38.6 percent CDU, 29.5 percent SPD, 5.7 percent Greens
