A fire broke out in a detached house on the Canal A North side in Emmer-Compascuum around midnight. At the end of the evening, the fire service received a report of a fire in the meter cupboard.
According to a spokesperson for the Drenthe Security Region, the fire was outraged, but the fire on the ground floor was quickly under control. “They’re still busy upstairs.”
Photos show a lot of smoke. It is not clear how the fire started.
