A lot of rain and wind expected upon the arrival of Sinterklaas

Sinterklaas will not be lucky this weekend, during his arrival in the Netherlands. “It’s going to be soaking wet,” Johnny Willemsen from Weerplaza said on Friday morning. A raincoat is certainly not an unnecessary luxury at all the places in Brabant that he visits.

This Friday, on the other hand, will be largely dry. The day started with some light rain or drizzle in many places in the south and east of the province. “But that will gradually disappear to the southeast. We will be left with a lot of grayness. Maybe we will see the sun for a while in the afternoon. It will be about 8 degrees.”

“It’s going to rain heavily on Saturday afternoon.”

Saturday still starts dry. “But in the morning it will rain from the west. Initially some light dripping, but in the afternoon it will really rain heavily. It is initially quite cold, about 5 degrees. In the afternoon, in that rain, it will 7 or 8 degrees. But with wind and rain it will still feel cold. We won’t reach the maximum temperature of 12 degrees until Saturday evening. So the rain does bring soft air.”

There will be some sun on Sunday. “But there are also showers. Then it is mild: 14 degrees, with a strong wind.

So Santa would be wise to bring rain gear this weekend? “Certainly!”
