A lot of people for the Raoul De Keyser exhibition in Ostend

The exhibition ‘Friends in a field’ in Mu.ZEE in Ostend departs from the football field next to the studio and house of Raoul De Keyser. The artist from Deinze died ten years ago. The football field often comes back in his work.

“Apparently when people said ‘this is just a football field,’ he said, ‘no, no, this is an abstract composition. When people called it an abstract painting, he said, ‘it’s just a football field. So there is always humor in how he approached his work and often also in the titles of his work,” says Ilse Roosens, curator of Mu.ZEE.
