A lot of damage in detached house due to fire

‘Around a quarter past eleven we received a call from the fire brigade for a hood fire. By the time they arrived, the fire had already spread throughout the kitchen. The major resources were deployed and after about an hour the fire was extinguished’, says Lieutenant Francis Vermote of the post in Gistel. The kitchen of the house is completely burned out, the rest of the house also suffered a lot of smoke and water damage, the fire also destroyed part of the attic. The house is therefore uninhabitable.

The cause of the fire is a defect in the fryer. It caught fire and then set the hood ablaze.
