Page 238/2 of Yle’s teletext shows, quite familiar to puck people, the best Finnish NHL scorers.
There is room for 21 players on the site. Häntäpää can be reached with basic broom powers, such as Esa Lindell (1+3), Juuso Välimäki (1+3) and Jani Hakanpää (2+1) show but Jesse Puljujärvi the place can only be found on the next page, 238/3.
Puljujärvi’s lineup looked strong after 15 games: one goal, one assist, -6.
Saturday’s visit to the Florida Panthers’ den offered a perfect opportunity to improve the stats, even climbing to 238/2. Puljujärvi got to number one again by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Connor McDavid’s alongside.
Puljujärvi humbly trotted to the goal and gave a few little kisses, but the puck making was almost non-existent. Self-confidence seems to be at zero, like his a couple of days ago his painful acknowledgment to the Continuation summarizes: “I wish someone would come and tell me what should be done.”
The real highlight came in the third set. Nugent-Hopkins served a nice, small pass in front of the goal, but Puljujärvi’s lackluster attempt did not pose the slightest challenge For Spencer Knight.
Entry point
The Oilers grabbed a tasty 4–2 win over the strong Panthers, who had won By Aaron Ekblad and Matt Tkachuk back.
Oilers’ heroes were fired by the first two hits Tyson Barry and beaten in Knight’s guard fights Stuart Skinnerwho caught 40 pucks.
Alexander Barkov scraped and built but ran out of power and fell to a rare mistake in the final set. Losing the puck in their own defensive zone caused the third Oilers hit, which ended up being the winning goal.
Puljujärvi finally got a little relief from the pain of inefficiency. With the Panthers looking for the equalizer without a goaltender, he managed to play the puck in defensive blue to McDavid, who freed up Nugent-Hopkins for an effortless paint job.
Despite its input point, Puljujärvi remains on page 238/3.
Kinnunen and Levtchi are waiting for their turn
Aleksi Heponiemi was sent back to the farm, Charlotte Checkers, at the end of the week. He got to play two games up in a Panthers jersey.
Heponiemi got credit for just over ten minutes in both matches. One assist was recorded in the statistics.
Last season’s Finnish champions from Tappara also play in Checkers Santtu Kinnunen and Anton Levtchi. Neither has yet made their Panthers debut.
Levtchi has scored six (3+3) points in nine AHL games, Kinnunen four (1+3) in eight.
Heponiemi’s catch in seven AHL games is five (2+3) points.
