Una life came to greetings. After 1,484 episodes, tomorrow 12 November at 14.10 (on Channel 5) closes the soap opera which has collected an average of over 2 million viewers glued to the story set in Madrid in the Acacias neighborhood, between 1899 and 1920. A group of aficionados who will be orphaned and disconsolate, because knowing the fate of the protagonists who populated the elegant Madrid barrio will slightly sweeten the nostalgia of an almost daily appointment.
Produced by Tve, Acacias 38 arrived in Italy with the title A life on June 22, 2015, just two months after the Spanish debut. The seven seasons in which the story between loves, betrayals, crimes and suicides in Spain they have already concluded for over a year, on May 4, 2021. Some Italian fans therefore already know the ending. For all the others – who have known how to wait – tomorrow is the day when they will discover what will happen to the protagonists present at number 38 of calle Acacias.
A lifeseven seasons of loves, crimes and passions
The story is articulated on the contrast between good and bad, gentlemen and servants and thwarted loves. Over the years the protagonists have gradually changed, but the tension has always remained high. In the first season, love was celebrated between Dr. Germán De La Serna, lovelessly married to the evil Cayetana, and the maid Manuela. Tragically died at the end of the season, an event investigated by inspector Mauro San Emeterio, who falls in love in love with the teacher Teresa (actually the “real” Cayetana). Mauro and his beloved will leave Acacias 38, after the former Mrs. De La Serna dies burned.

The lawyer Felipe
Another memorable present is the lawyer Felipe Álvarez-Hermoso, played by Marc Parejo. He is a tenant of Acacias 38 married to Celia Verdejo, from whom he divorces in the second season and remarries in the third, remaining, then, a widower, following the madness of his beloved. Falling in love with the maid Marcia, he then finds himself married to the perfidious Genoveva, whom he has arrestedbecause he was guilty of Marcia’s murder.
The second wife’s revenge drives Felipe almost to madness. To assist him, in the last season, is Dori, a student of psychology, who pretends to be a nurse to complete her studies. The two fall in love, Dori accepts his marriage proposal but the lawyer still has to reflect on his future.

Genoveva and the other bad guys
So many bad guys that have followed one another over the years and none of them have made a good end. To hold the scepter of perfidy, starting from the fifth season, is Donna Genoveva Salmerón de Quesada (Clara Garrido). She is married to Aurelio, another who is not a saint’s shin, she finds herself having to deal with the anger of her husband who she had her sister killed. Gabriela also wants her badly, her daughter abandoned at her birth who returns to take possession of her money.
Immovable supporting actors of A lifesince the dawn, they are also Ramón Palacios and daughter-in-law Lolita, Felipe’s former maid. With them the maids Casilda and Fabiana, she wished to take the social elevator to improve their lives. And then there is Servante, the irreplaceable goalkeeper of Acacias 38 who, left a widower, in the sixth season declared his love to Fabiana.
A life, the previews of the last episode
How will the stories of Felipe and Genoveva end, and also those of all the others, will be revealed in the last episode full of twists that we are careful not to tell. Suffice it to say that in addition to the persuasive one of Bellita (played by the Sevillian singer Maria Gracia), fans will resent the voice another very bad historian. Some other historical characters will also return in the finale. To inspire Aurora Guerra, screenwriter of Acacias 38were some vintage series. In particular Downton Abbey And Upstairs – Downstairs (aired in Italy in the 70s as Up and down the stairs) and all those of the same era that stage relations between lords and servants.
The eye patch that lawyer Felipe Álvarez-Hermoso wore for some time in 2017 was necessary to hide the injuries of a motorcycle accident in which Marc Parejo, the actor who has always played him, was involved.
Shooting of the telenovela was interrupted twice. The first was in March 2017 when the set, which was located in the industrial area of Arenas, caught fire during the night. The work resumed after the reconstruction of the sets in another area near the Madrid capital. The second stop was necessary a March 2020 due to the lockdown.
