ACV is going to fire chairman Marc Leemans – who is leaving of his own free will – so that he can take early retirement
Marc Leemans will stop as chairman of ACV in 2024. His own choice, he says. And yet he is put on SWT – the former bridging pension – a system that only exists for those who are fired. And so the ACV will fire Leemans, entitling him to unemployment benefits and a supplement. “However, the unions are the first to deny that workers are ‘fired’. The union will lose a lot of credibility in this way,” says labor market specialist Stijn Baert (UGent).
