As expected, the match Deontay Wilder against was a professional boxer to Robert Helenius a financial jackpot, even if the sporting result was disappointing.

Helenius faced the former world heavyweight champion last October in New York. Wilder blindsided the Finnish boxing fans. The Yankee with a big punch knocked out the Finn already in the first round.

Helenius’ match fee was estimated to be close to a million euros.

The recent financial statement shows that Helenius’ Nordic Nightmare Ab broke its record last year. Turnover was 1.07 million euros, while the previous year it was around 565,500 euros.

In the previous fiscal year, the company’s profit was 140,000 euros, but now it rose to 520,000 euros. After taxes, the profit for the financial year was 414,919.60.

Helenius said earlier that he was in a difficult situation financially when there were no matches. Money worries seem to be history now, because the Nordic Nightmare company has a whopping 503,000 euros in its coffers. A year ago, the amount was 152,000 euros.

Expensive match

Based on the financial statements, the preparation for the Wilder match became expensive. Helenius trained practically all year round at his own gym in Åland.

Spar opponents were flown to the island from abroad. In addition, Helenius left for the United States already a couple of weeks before the match to prepare for the match.

During the accounting period, a total of around 380,000 euros was spent on “external services”.

Salary Helenius’ company paid 119,389 euros. Presumably the workers included a coach Johan Lindström and the manager Markus Sundman.

Despite the knockout loss, Helenius’ career continues. He will get into the ring in August in Olavinlinna, when he steps in Mika Mielonen.
