A group of ‘watchmaker’ thieves seriously injures a man in Barcelona

The Mossos d’Esquadra investigate the violent assault suffered by a man this Sunday morning in Barcelona. This is a new episode starring a gang of violent thieves in search of watches. The victim had just left the home of her partner, located in the district of Les Corteswhen he was attacked by a group of young men who pounced on him to take his watch and some of his belongings.

The man, seriously injured, managed to return to his partner’s house. In the first place, he was treated at the CUAP on Manso Street and later he was transferred to the Bellvitge University Hospitalwhere he had to undergo surgery for a jaw fracture.

The Mossos and the Barcelona City Guard have noted an uptick in violent incidents involving this type of criminal looking for high-end watches on the wrists of tourists. However, in this case there is no evidence that the watch worn by this victim was as expensive as those pursued by the so-called ‘watchmakers’ nor was it found in one of the areas most tourist in the city.
