Now is the time to make use of the leftovers left in the cupboard after the New Year.

Turn an omelet into food, in which you can dip almost any leftovers from the refrigerator.

This is how you assemble an omelette

1. Choose the vegetables

Vegetables that are already slightly wilted also go well with the omelette. So don’t worry if the pepper has softened or the tomato has shriveled. Choose 2–3 plants for the omelet, for example from the following:

– a tomato

– paprika

– broccoli

– an onion

– spinach

– zucchini

– boiled potatoes

2. Choose meat or fish

If you have leftover cracker, sausage, meatballs or smoked fish from the New Year, they all work perfectly in an omelette. Omelet is also made perfectly without meat or fish, but they bring foodiness to the dish. Choose food to add to the omelet, for example one of the following:

– salami

– chorizo sausage

– jewelry

– fried minced meat

– fried chicken

– ham

– smoked salmon

– tofu. Vegetable tofu is also a great filling for an omelette!

3. Choose a cheese

Strong cheeses work best in an omelette, which add a lot of flavor to the food. If you can’t find them, mild edam, cream cheese or any cheese you can find in the fridge will do just fine.

For example, choose one of the following cheeses:

– parmesan

– cheddar

– Emmental

– feta

4. Finish

Top the omelet with, for example, these:

– chili flakes

– spring onion

– fresh basil

– fresh parsley

Scrambled eggs

(for one)

2 eggs

0.5 dl of whipped cream or milk

a pinch of salt

a pinch of black pepper

1 tablespoon of butter or oil for frying

1. Mix the eggs until the texture is broken.

2. Add cream or milk and spices and mix until smooth.

3. Fry the omelette by first sauteing the fillings, except for the cheese, in the pan in the fat and add the omelette to the pan after sauteing.

4. Add grated cheese to the surface of the omelet mass when the omelet has started to coagulate.

5. Finally, crown with herbs, chili or spring onions.
