A fresh wind is blowing through the Corso of Frederiksoord: new board comes with new ideas

For those in the know it has been noticeable for some time: a fresh wind is blowing through Corso Frederiksoord. With the arrival of a number of new board members, new ideas have also been put on the table.

A number of these ideas were immediately taken up, such as the Junior Committee. For the board, connection, fun, cooperation and growth are central: Corso Frederiksoord is alive and must remain the ‘coziest parade in the Netherlands’.

Most people within the board were raised with a corso, but recently the board has also been strengthened by Jolanda Kroondijk, responsible for the secretariat and now also infected with the corso virus. Hermien Nijmeijer has been on the board for some time. She is happy with the renewal and sees opportunities for growth. Hermien supports chairman Joost Ottik. “It’s great that the renewal also brings new inspiration. I am proud of the Junior Committee. With the Junior cars we hope to make young people enthusiastic and to keep them interested in the parade. Together we are building the future.” Jan Jacob Bakker maintains contact with the jury and, together with the PR committee, focuses on the PR of the parade. His motto: keep what is there and innovate for the future.

All facets

Wil Broekman is the veteran of the parade. He has gone through almost all facets within the parade, from children’s parade to car builder and from sponsor to technical committee and now on the board. Wil maintains contacts with the car builders, among other things. “Corso has a connecting factor within the environment, the 60th anniversary is proof of that. As a board, we are only part of that. By working well together with the car builders, mosaic groups, sponsors and the many volunteers, we can create a beautiful parade every year.”

Have fun!

The preparations are in full swing. This year the floralia parade is celebrating its 60th anniversary; on the weekend of September 10 and 11. With extra festivities but also with extra decorations: on the site and along the mosaic route. In order to realize this, many volunteers are also needed. “We are always looking for people who want to help. In the run-up to the parade – think of the various committees – but also during the parade, from ticket sales and ticket control to seat sales. Anyone interested can register with the volunteer committee: volunteer [email protected]
