Mikko Vehviläinen will publish next week the rise of Kuopio ice hockey and especially the color of the first league season Brent Sapergia a book about

Vehviläinen has devoted an entire song to the praise and wonder of Sapergia’s female success.

– No matter how you look at it from any angle, Sapergia’s female success arouses at least incredulous amazement: admiration for some, envy for others. Some lost their hearts to the charmer, Vehviläinen writes.

– Countless people from Kuopio have memories related to the topic, which of course vary by gender. “To be 30 years younger and have the womanizing skills of Brent Sapergia,” says one.

Sapergia thinks that the league hockey player status had an effect on Kuopio’s night.

– I noticed that my legend started to grow and more and more people started enjoying themselves in our party, he says in the book.

– I have always been very outgoing and liked to have fun. Wherever I usually went, there was laughter – and people do enjoy themselves where there is joy and fun.

According to Sapergia, North American women are “a slightly stiffer breed than Europeans”.

– Finnish girls are really free-spirited, outgoing, friendly and beautiful. They are my favorite women out of all the nations of the world.

Sapergia played in KalPa in the 1986–87 season.

– There (in Finland) we lived with our parents for a long time, he marvels in the book.

– Many times I experienced a nasty surprise in the morning when I had gone to a girl I met in a bar for the night. It was a bit awkward to meet the girl’s parents in such a state.

Mikko Vehviläinen’s self-published Sapergia – a book about Kuopio’s cult hero and disc boom will be published on February 23.
