Of course, that was just a taster, Frau Holle… wasn’t it?

On Friday, many Berliners found their car with white windows for the first time. It had snowed. Little, but still.

The BZ immediately asked online: Do you think it’s good that it snowed? 59 percent of Berliners said: Yes to Frau Holle!

A few snowflakes can still fall on Saturday, too, which the meteorologists call “slight snowfall”.

But they do not give hope for tobogganing fun in autumn. “Winter is only a flying visit,” says Lars Kirchhübel from the weather forecast center of the German Weather Service (DWD). “In Germany, a lasting snow cover can only be expected at higher altitudes or in the north-east.”

If you still like it spectacularly wintry, you can go to the zoo. There you can experience a sparkling evening tour at “Christmas in the zoo”.

Many great light installations await visitors and fascinating photo opportunities. Daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Friedrichsfelde, tickets 19.50 euros, reduced 15 euros.
