Katri Lylynperä got married in the summer.
– Now this got out of hand! national team skier Katri Lylynperä announced in April.
Lylynperä thought he was going to a partner’s event, but the rival sisters Vilma Nissinen and Jasmin Kähärä mixed Kaisasister had organized a surprise bachelor party.
The group headed to Mallorca, Spain to celebrate.
– At first, I thought that maybe we were spinning in the night of Helsinki. We didn’t even spin. The biggest surprise was that we went to Mallorca, says Lylynperä.

Lylynperä knew how to guess that the bachelor party was on the program before the summer wedding. However, he guessed the time of the week wrong.
The bride was kept in the dark even at the destination. He published pictures from the trip, for example of the swimming pool, but did not reveal a more detailed program of the fires.
– I didn’t know how long the trip would take. Not much was said.
– What happens in Mallorca stays there, he muses.

A summer wedding
Lylynperä and a skier’s spouse Juuso Mäkelä got married in Sastamala in June. The couple invested in the guests’ comfort with surprising elements.
– There was a sauna and a drink available. We are not that dancing type, Lylynperä reveals.
The wedding couple enjoyed the party, but not being the center of attention.
– The wedding was successful. My husband and I did not enjoy being party props. We wanted it to be fun to visit. It seems that it was, because many people enjoyed themselves until the morning.
Lylynperä assumed in advance that the Ski Association would not have a camp during the wedding. It turned out differently, because the first camp of the season was organized in Kuopio in May.
The skier left the camp in advance to organize a party. He thanks his mother for the help.
– Mother had ordered the house full of things and decorations in advance. For a few weeks, I had to schedule what I had to do, when to take care of what. Everything went surprisingly well.
