The American magazine National Geographic has put Terti manor on its list of restaurants worth visiting.

National Geographic has raised the one located in Mikkeli Tertin Manor’s Best of the World 2024 restaurant listing. The newspaper writes that the villages of the Saimaa region are known for their spruce-lined paths, manors and simple country food, and recommends getting to know the food culture of Järvi-Finland at the Terti manor.
Terti manor is located in Mikkeli, in the heart of Järvi-Finland. The manor has accommodation, a restaurant and a cafe as well.
– This is a great achievement. As a mother, we wonder how we got ourselves into such great company. This is a great recognition for our entire team and the result of long-term work. Whatsapp is hot, says Terti manor’s business manager Lotta Luostarinen.

The restaurant at Terti Manor is especially known for its banquet table of 50 taste experiences, the stars of which include salmon smoked with alder in its own smokehouse, tarragon jelly, pheasant pate and herb-sugar cake with seven different herbs and flowers.
– We have a lot of old recipes that we bring to this day with our team. We use a lot of local food and products from our own yard. We have our own vegetable garden and herb garden, where we get fresh ingredients. We get fish from our neighbors and game from our own forest, Luostarinen tells about the manor restaurant’s food philosophy.

National Geographic’s listing presents a total of 21 culinary gems from around the world, from Asia and South America to the Caribbean. In addition to Terti manor, Krone Säumerei am Inn from Switzerland, The Three Horseshoes from England and Mercado de la Imprenta from Spain have made it to the list of European restaurants.
