The Linnasaari family donned the blue and white colors and traveled to Moncton to cheer on the Young Lions.
TIMO KUNNARI
One Finnish team could be seen and heard in the stands of the Finland-Slovakia match in Moncton.
Tommi Linnasaari, Anniina Linnasaari and Jonna Karhunen drove to the game from Fredericton about 200 kilometers away.
– Of course, we came to encourage Finland. It’s really great that the games came here and the Finnish team as well, says the trio.
The trio was accompanied by the relevant encouragement sheets. They read, among other things, “Den glider in” and “Nyt poika saunoo”.
Who will win the championship in this tournament?
– Finland, of course. I hope Finland meets Canada in the final and wins. We are Finnish and Canadian, we have lived in Canada for about 15 years and in between for a while also in Norway. But in hockey, the favorite is always Finland.

Slovakia also had its own supporters in the stands of the Avenir Centre.
Finland lost its opening game of the tournament to Switzerland.
