A Finnish businessman wanted to buy Manchester United – Now there was a surprise turn: “It became a farce”

The Finn will not become the new owner of Manchester United.

The purchase project of Thomas Zilliacus ended. Antti Puskala

Finnish businessman Thomas Zilliacus announced on Wednesday that it was withdrawing from the purchase of the major football club Manchester United.

Zilliacus announced it on Twitter. He did not appreciate the way United’s current owners, the Glazer family, are dragging out the deal.

– I have decided to withdraw from the third bidding round. The bidding process became a farce when the Glazers don’t respect the club at all. When there are delays, it is really difficult for the new owner to build a winning team for next season.

Jim RatcliffesheikhHamad bin Jassim al-Thani and I were ready to negotiate the purchase of United. Nevertheless, the Glazers decided to launch a new bidding round. I don’t want to be involved in a farce that only aims to maximize the seller’s payday.

Zilliacus made a real surprise in March when he announced that he had turned down a buyout offer from the Premier League club.

At the end of March, Zilliacus submitted a new bid after Ratcliffe and al-Thani had not agreed to his proposed joint bid.
