I come from another world. From Berlin in 2015. At that time my wallet was stolen. To annoy. Advertisement. Hoping that at least my ID finds its way back to me. Vain. Less than a week went by when my district office called me. Proactive.

I should please come quickly, I need a new ID card. I was given several dates to choose from. At the office, the employee with apparently clairvoyant abilities advised me to exchange my driver’s license for the new model right away.

And today? I’ll check the service portal. My next appointment to apply for an identity card is October 25th. That’s 56 days!

My ID expires in three years. I’m already worried.
