DFB junior Rocco Reitz (21) only extended his contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach until 2026 in September – now the next signature on an even better working paper could follow. “Sport Bild” reports on Gladbach’s plans for a further extension.
Accordingly, the contract period could be extended by two years. Homegrown Reitz (at the club since 2009) is expected to stay on better terms and earn €2 million a year in the future, which, according to the report, would be appropriate for his role as a regular player. The magazine “11Freunde” recently reported that the Gladbach management was lobbying Reitz’ advisor Sascha Breese from the agency “Sports360” and his boss Volker Struth for a new deal.

After returning from his loan at VV St. Truiden, Reitz joined Borussia in the summer and became a high-flyer. The midfielder has played 21 games so far (17 from the start) and contributed four goals and two assists. Its market value before the start of the season was 800,000 euros – it currently stands at 10 million euros and the trend is upwards (to date). With his performances, Reitz also earned himself a nomination for the German U21, where he made his debut in November and immediately scored two goals against Estonia (4-1).
“I have been at Borussia for more than half my life and the club has long since become my second home. The fact that I can live my dream here makes me proud and I am grateful for that,” said the Duisburg native, commenting on the extension in September. Originally his contract would have expired at the end of the season.
