A dress for 1 euro, it’s finally possible again at the Meimarkt in Tilburg

A long ribbon of stalls full of second-hand items and visitors shuffling past. The 40th May Market started in Tilburg on Saturday evening. The anniversary edition has been postponed for two years by corona. They call it the largest nightly flea market in Tilburg. The stalls stayed open all night.

In the crowd, bargain hunters mingle at night with youngsters going out. Market vendors who have been promoting the goods all night, sound hoarse on Sunday morning.

If you look around you will find dresses for 1 euro, a mannequin with tattoos for 15 euros, a children’s racing bike for 50 euros and a folding table to take with you for free.

“It is mainly the atmosphere that makes this such a unique event”, says one of the visitors. “Actually, this should be every month.” Another visitor completely agrees. “I come all the way from Nijmegen every year. We missed it so much for two years. This is such a nice market.”

De Nijmeegse takes the free side table and continues looking for even more unique offers.
