A dot on the horizon Oosterduinen is there, but it still has to become concrete

An important part of the transformation from recreation to living is the so-called ‘equalization’. The change in destination increases the value of a home and the municipality of Noordenveld wants an amount for this. In addition, Noordenveld is ‘less attractive from a tourist point of view’ and wants to be compensated for this.

But it is still unclear how high that amount is. However, it would amount to several thousand euros per home. There is also division in the forest about this. The D66, CDA and Lijst Groen Noordenveld factions indicated that they found the legal basis for the equalization ‘flimsy’, while the coalition parties agree with the council’s reasoning.

“It is a relatively new tool, because more transformation plans have been introduced in the last few years,” says councilor Meijer. “But we will soon miss the commuter tax for these homes. That compensation is what it is.”
