Court 5 of Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona) has opened investigation proceedings for an alleged offense against the Constitution against three people from TV3 for the comic scene about the Virgen del Rocío issued during the past Holy Week, following the complaint filed by the Spanish Foundation of Christian Lawyers.
Last Tuesday, April 4, TV3 broadcast a satire on the program “Està passant”, in which a actress dressed as the Virgen del Rocío With a baby doll in her arms simulating the baby Jesus, look at its presenters, Toni Soler and Jair Domínguez, ironically saying that the Virgin does not go out in procession at Easter, in addition to making jokes about her sex life and her Andalusian accent.
Following this satire, the Spanish Foundation of Christian Lawyers filed a complaint against the two TV3 presenters and against the actress who pretended to be the Virgin for a possible crime of derision.
Judicial sources have informed EFE that court number 5 of Sant Feliu de Llobregat has admitted the complaint of this association for an alleged crime against the Constitution, which is where derision is included. The aforementioned sources have indicated that the date for the statement of those investigated has not yet been set.

In its complaint, the aforementioned entity considered that it was an “attack against religious sentiments carried out completely gratuitously” and, furthermore, at a very important time for Catholics such as Holy Week.
The Foundation, specifically, accepted article 525.1 of the Penal Code in the complaint, which establishes that “those who, in order to offend the feelings of the members of a religious denomination, do publicly, by word of mouth, in writing or through any type of document, ridicule their dogmas, beliefs, rites or ceremonies, or vex, also publicly, those who profess or practice them”
