He writer of children’s and youth books and professor from Coruña Miguel LopezThe Hematocritic, has died this monday afternoon as a result of a heart attack, as confirmed by sources close to him. He was 47 years old.
The author, who was very active on social networks, was at home with his partner, the writer and lawyer. Ledicia Costas, in Navia (Vigo) when he suffered a heart attack. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he died shortly afterwards. Pending the autopsy, the possible cause of death is a heart attack.

The Hematocriticwho admitted in an interview in La Opinión de A Coruña, from the Prensa Ibérica group, in 2020 that he perceived himself “as different from others” because when he was a child he liked “things that were not the majority in his class”, he was a teacher of Early Childhood Education, English and Primary at school The Slaves from A Coruña. Among his fifteen books for the youngest, many written in Galician, stand out Axente riñiños (2016), Or wolf in boots (2016) Rapunzel with piolones (2019) or Mayor Vermella (2020). In López’s prolific career, his collaborations with publications as Mongolia, Cinemania, Cuore either GQamong others, or his role as a screenwriter in The Roaring Twentiesprogram presented by the film director Nacho Vigalondo. The news of López’s death has filled social networks with messages of condolences and affection from his followers and well-known faces, especially through X -formerly known as Twitter-, where He became known with his publications full of criticism, sarcasm and humor through his profile El Hematocrítico.
