Nine-year-old Angelita demonstratively takes off her shoes and then enters the house in her socks. “Yes, mom. The underfloor heating works,” she exclaims happily. Mother Henriët Wolters: “I really didn’t believe this beforehand, a completely new house within two months.”
Wolters and her two children are one of the first returning residents of the terraced houses on WB Schragestraat, in the Emmermeer district of Emmen. On Monday, October 16, her old house, in exactly the same location, was demolished. On Friday afternoon, less than two months later, she received the front door key to her new home from the Lefier housing association. “And I have to say, I’m really satisfied. It just looks really nice.”
