A closer look at Zoetermeer train stations: this is how travelers rate our stations

How would you rate the Zoetermeer train stations? If it’s a pass, you’ll agree with many other travelers. This is evident from the Station Experience Monitor 2022.

The three Zoetermeer train stations (Zoetermeer, Zoetermeer East and Lansingerland-Zoetermeer) received a very good rating. In the 2017 measurements, our train stations were in less good shape than they are now. In the 2021 survey, the ratings got even a little better: we’ll let you know what the figures for the year 2022 look like.

Train station Zoetermeer and Zoetermeer East

Zoetermeer train station will receive a score of 6.9 for the year 2022 according to travelers. In 2021 that was still a 6.7, in 2017 a 6.2. Zoetermeer East train station is more appreciated by travelers: for 2022, the station can put a 7.4 in its pocket. In 2021 this was still a 7.2, in 2017 a 6.5. In the intervening years, a lot has changed at this station: a new waiting area, seats and benches were installed.

Railway station Lansingerland-Zoetermeer

The newest train station, Lansingerland-Zoetermeer, is rated 7.3 by travelers. In 2021, this figure was slightly higher, at 7.4. In 2017, the station was not yet there.

Stations in South Holland

The top three best-rated stations in the province of Zuis-Holland are:

  • Rotterdam Central Station (8.0)
  • Delft (7.9)
  • Waddinxveen Triangle (7.8)

You see that with our 7.4, 7.3 and 6.9 we don’t deviate that far from that at all. Next year we will go for the first position!

The research was carried out by I&O Research on behalf of ProRail and NS. 85,000 travelers were questioned for the study.

Best rated stations in the Netherlands

Zoetermeer residents have to travel a bit to visit the best-rated stations in the Netherlands. The stations in the top three are all located in South Limburg. In first place is Klimmen-Ransdaal (8.3), followed by Schin op Geul (8.2) and Valkenburg (8.1).
