The Nautilusstraat in Emmen was flooded this afternoon after a water pipe burst. How this could happen is not known. The fire service closed off the road with tape so that a mechanic could investigate together with the WMD where the leak came from.
After more than an hour, the WMD succeeded in shutting off the water mains, causing the water to slowly drain through the wells on the street. To the best of our knowledge, residents in the area have not suffered any water damage.
